Support & Troubleshooting

We want your time in the Studio to be productive and stress-free. Below are quick fixes for common issues you might encounter.

  • Check the Furman M-8X power conditioner (located below the Scarlett 18i20). Turn it on if it’s off.
  • Check the Scarlett 18i20 unit. Turn it on if it’s off.
  • If the Scarlett 18i20 still does not appear in the audio settings,
    • Check the USB cable connection (Type A to Type C) between the Scarlett 18i20 and the iMac. Make sure it’s securely connected at both ends.
    • Unplug and reconnect the cable, especially if the connection feels loose.
  • If the issue persists, restart the iMac.

Change the iMac’s Audio Output from iMac Speakers to Scarlett 18i20. Follow the instructions in “Scarlett 18i20 is not showing up in audio settings or not recognized as the input/output device”.

The system memory may be low. Restart the iMac by pressing the power button to refresh system performance.

  • Make sure the microphone is plugged in to the audio interface securely.
  • Check the input settings on the computer and make sure that the correct microphone is selected.
  • Open your recording software and verify audio levels are active.
  • Still no sound? Try restarting the software or iMac.
