The University of Idaho Library has a large collection of digital and print newspapers to use.

To find newspaper articles related to a topic, enter keywords in the Library catalog’s Newspaper Article Search.

To find a specific newspaper, visit the Library Catalog, search for the newspaper title, and on the left side of the search results screen, limit Resource Type to Newspapers.

Current issues of local, state and national newspapers are available in print on the 2rd floor of the U of I Library. Most older issues are on microfilm and can be viewed on one of the microfilm readers, located on the 3rd floor.

The Argonaut

The Argonaut is the award winning student newspaper produced by the University of Idaho Student Media in the Department of Student Involvement. Continuously in print since 1898, it was historically published twice a week during the academic year and distributed across campus and throughout Moscow, Idaho and Pullman, Washington. The Argonaut continues to publish a limited print edition, as well as the Argonaut online edition.

Library holdings include issues of Argonaut in print, microfilm, and digital. Bound paper copies may be used in the Special Collections reading room. Access to digital scans of issues from 1898 to 2021 are found in the Argonaut Digital Collection. The microfilm back file is located on the library’s third floor. Content since Fall 2000+ may be found at the current Argonaut online edition.
